Flag football was so much fun! The girls were great to have on a team. It's something you will never forget or regret. The coachs were great teachers and it was definantly fun during the games too. All the girls that played well, we still stick together, talk, laugh, and share the fun memories. Oh, and the jerseys were awesome!

For those of us hoping to visit from out of town it would be VERY nice if you said what YEAR this info is for. There is stuff on the net for years back and it is very difficult to find what is 2010 because so many sites are doing the same thing and not posting the year. Thanks.

The prices listed are incorrect.

For the New Years Eve Party lock-in from 9 p.m. till 1 a.m. is $35.00 per person. The all-nighter is $55.00 per person.

There are no special member prices for this event.

To complete the thought:

For every $100 spent in locally owned, independent brick and mortar businesses, $68 returns to the local economy. If spent in a big box or chain, only $43 returns. Spend it online, and unless you live in the exact same community as the e-tailer, nothing comes home.

Thank you so much for posting this. Our children are becoming type 2 diabetics at alarming rates. We must begin to change the paradigm by changing lifestyles and helping our youth.
Who do you know who could benefit by this program? If not your student, your neighbor? Your child's friend? Please spread the word.

I think it is wrong and a slap in the face to the community of Oak Harbor and the Lupien Family for a person who is not from our community to rename the airport after himself. Wes Lupien, the founder of Oak Harbor Airport, was a former Naval Aviator, former President and long time member of Oak Harbor Rotary, and a respected member of the local business community. The airport was named after Wes by the community, with several members of the state government, the Mayor of Oak Harbor and many local citizens attending the original memorial ceramony. Wes was also given certificates of appreciation by Gov. Mike Lowery, and Mayor Al Koetje for service to the community. Just who is A.J. Eisenberg? What has he done to warrant renaming a memorial airport after himself? I would urge people not to attend!

I am compelled to make another note. The response above referred to only one (the top one on the list) of the signers as if they were personally responsible for the Letter to the Editor submitted by ex-HOPE families, volunteers and students; that is erroneous. I personally...as the media person and typist....made a draft of the letter....and the 'resigned' stakeholders provided input and changes and had an opportunity to sign it (the signature list is WAY longer than that which was initially published, though Whidbey Daily noted there were more signers). The signatures were in no particular order, and the response above, in error repeatedly refers only to one of the signers.
